Composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist ( guitarist and pianist ) Chris Read has been playing live for over ten years in his birthplace of London, as well as overseas around the USA and Europe. His writing draws influence from timeless standards and he matches this with a more modern sound and a raw, soulful vocal. Chris is a gifted young talent with a passion for the music he creates.
Chris plays solo as well as with his quartet, which is made up of other talented young jazz musicians, THE CHRIS READ QUARTET. They are returning to The Cheltenham Jazz Festival in May and also at London’s Pheasantry. Excited to be playing Montreux JazzFestival in July. The quartet make a welcome return to Dean Street, Jazz Club this Autumn.
Chris Read is a young, gifted and extremely talented guitarist, pianist, singer and songwriter. Chris is passionate about his music and his original songs will appeal to a large demographic.
He plays a wide repertoire from classic jazz standards , soul, up to the latest hits.
Chris is a regular performer at high-end venues and events, renowned for his unique style, smooth vocals and emotive guitar playing . Chris is always a hit with clients.
