Andrew D Brewis

Andrew is a singer/pianist with a style all his own; whatever he performs, he delivers with considerable flair and panache; believing that while the choice of repertoire is important, it is how you deliver that makes the difference. Andrew is equally at home entertaining lounge lizard style in the intimate surroundings of the piano bar as he is performing on stage, radio and t.v. His first love however is cabaret.

Andrew is currently resident at the prestigious Wentworth Club. He is much in demand both as a solo performer and also with his band, Red Hot and Blue, appearing regularly at events and concerts throughout the uk. Andrew has recently returned from New York and Boston where his music has received rapturous plaudits.

Andrew, hails from England and is a member of the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters, he has been a professional pianist, singer, songwriter and cabaret artist for more than 20 years. Now a recognised master of his art, Andrew's performances are quintessentially English, but with an international slant and a truly international following having performed in London, New York and Cape Town. He has earned a considerable reputation by appearing regularly in some of London's top venues, performing his one-man cabarets at Pizza on The Park, The Jermyn Street Theatre and The Bridewell Theatre, as well as numerous theatres and private functions all over the UK and around the world. Andrew has played in too many hotels to list here, from stints at The Waldorf, The Dorchester, Claridges and The Park Lane to residencies at The Oak Room Restaurant in Piccadilly, The Green Room at The Cafe Royal and also a regular at London’s celebrity haunt The Ivy.

Andrew has recorded two shows for BBC tv, one in collaboration with the broadcaster David Jacobs. Both programmes were aired on BBC 1 prime time spots, attracting Andrew's largest audience to date some 4-5 million ). Last year also saw Andrew's first live national broadcast on BBC Radio 3's In Tune.

Andrew is also no stranger to the recording studio. His first album took it' s title from his one man show of the same name - "Living in the Movies" was a collection of great songs from classic flicks and it received high critical acclaim. His second album "Shades" was produced in the summer of last year to showcase Andrew the songwriter; it features 12 original songs arranged, orchestrated and released on CD - this too is collecting rave reviews.

Andrew has recently been concentrating on writing inspirational/religious music and to date has released two cds. Both have been sold all over the world and sales have exceeded expectations. You can find out more about Andrew the songwriter at www.newsonggroup.co.uk.

Andrew’s repertoire is extensive; songs from Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, Sondheim, Ellington, Oscar Hammerstein and Fats Waller to Ray Charles, Neil Sedaka and Elton John.
